The war by Hamas against Israel continues.

A man was killed Sunday morning in the southern town of Sderot after a rocket landed near the car he was sitting in.

The man, 36-year-old Oshri Oz of Hod Hasharon, crashed into the wall with his car after it was hit. He managed to get out of the vehicle and take a number of steps before collapsing. He was evacuated to the Barzilay Medical Center in Ashkelon, where he died of his wounds.

Oz was a computer technician who used to visit Sderot often as part of his work. He was survived by his pregnant wife and a 2-year-old daughter.

The AP continues its policy of never naming Israeli victims of Palestinian terrorist attacks.

Another rocket slammed into the southern Israeli town of Sderot early today, killing a 36-year-old computer technician as he was driving. It was the second fatal rocket attack in less than a week.

Olmert continues the big talk.

“There will be no immunity for anyone involved in terror,” Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stressed at Sunday’s cabinet meeting, adding that Israel would “act without a time limit and will not be subject to conditions from any outside source.”

“We have instructed the IDF to continue operating against the terrorists. In the past few days many dozens of Hamas and Islamic Jihad men have been hit. The operation was meant to hit anyone involved in the shooting, anyone providing means to commit the attacks, and everyone involved,” the prime minister explained.

Responding to expected international pressure and criticism, Olmert said, “We are not subject to any timetable dictated from external bodies. We will decide when, where, and how we act.”

And the Shin Bet says that Hamas is ready for an IDF ground attack, if the war continues to grow.

“They’ll be waiting for us with explosive tunnels, snipers, road bombs and anything else they can think of, just in case we decide to go in,” said Diskin.

The Shin Bet, he stressed, recommends, in agreement with the IDF, to continue the ongoing operation “in order to avoid hurting any civilians. We mustn’t believe any fabricated calm,” added Diskin. “We must keep hurting Hamas on a daily basis.”

[…] “As much as I appreciate the efforts, the problem isn’t with fortifications,” said a livid Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. “The equation needs to be changed. We need to make it clear to the world that we have reached the end of our tolerance, and we should respond harshly.

“I don’t mean ground invasion. I’m talking about focusing heavy fire on the launch sites. We need special unit activity based on quality intelligence. This is the only way we can change the equation, not through fortification,” he added.

“The way we operate has made things very difficult for Hamas,” said Diskin when asked about IDF actions in the last few days.

“Rival Palestinian factions are talking to each other, trying to reach a ceasefire, and that shows us just how hard up they are,” he added. “Hamas and Khaled Mashaal are very concerned by the despair and misery among the Palestinian public.

“They are limited by the difficulties in moving rocket launchers around, they can’t make as many rockets as before and they have an increasing amount of casualties,” he added.

“It’s no coincidence they’re not firing at Ashkelon. They may have the technical ability, but they know that would mean things have escalated further.”

Hamas says it will kill Gilad Shalit if any Hamas leaders are targeted.

“If any of Hamas’ leaders are harmed, Israel can forget about Gilad Shalit,” said Saturday a spokesman for the Islamist group’s armed wing, the Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

Speaking to reporters just a few hours after another IDF aerial attack on a Hamas position in Gaza left five Palestinians dead, Abu Obaida said, “Suicide bombings in Israel are just a matter of time and proper conditions…we can fire rockets even beyond Ashkelon, and we will resume the suicide bombings and kidnappings.”

Here’s the thing: Lynn-B is of the opinion—and I have come to agree with her—that Shalit, Regev, and Goldwasser are already dead. There has been no evidence whatsoever of proof of life, simply assurances by some people who have been told—not shown, told—that Shalit and his companions are still alive. This is a common tactic of the terrorists. They know that Israel will act differently for live soldiers, and they play it accordingly.

The Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades promised an “earth-shattering” response should Israel target Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh or any other senior Hamas member.

“The Zionist enemy must realize one thing and that is that it can forget about the soldier Shalit if it harms one of Hamas’ political or military leaders,” Abu Obaida said, adding that his group is in possession of advanced weapons that “will be used against Israel sooner or later”.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, open the gates of hell, blah blah blah.

The thing is, the IDF is just toying with Hamas when it does not destroy the leadership. Stop sending these messages:

Later Palestinian sources reported of another Israeli attack on a Hamas post in the Jabalya refugee camp in Gaza. At least two people were injured in the attack, they said.

According to the sources, the post that was attacked is located near the home of Hamas Special Forces commander, Abu Obaid al-Jarrah.

Send the real thing. Take out Meshaal, Haniyeh, and al-Zahar. Take out the leadership. All of them. Because the bastards are still launching kassams, and hitting civilians.

A Sderot resident sustained light injuries from shrapnel when one of the rockets hit his apartment building. A second rocket fired at the southern city landed on a street, in close proximity to another apartment building. One person was treated for shock.

The summer war has begun. It just hasn’t been declared.

Apparently, Hamas leaders aren’t really interested in becoming martyrs for the cause. And the campaign of, well, killing terrorists before they can kill Israelis is working. Gee. Whoda thunk it?

Palestinian armed factions signalled on Friday that they may stop rocket salvoes from Gaza into Israel if Israel stops military action in the territory, softening earlier truce terms, a source said.

The source, a Palestinian official familiar with truce talks between the factions and representatives of moderate President Mahmoud Abbas, said the militants gave 48 hours in which to persuade Israel to accept the proposed Gaza ceasefire. (Reuters)

Not that I believe it. But it’s good to know they’re running scared again.

Keep up the attack. Put the leadership in your sights again, please. My personal wishlist: Haniyeh, Meshaal, and al-Zahar (better known as Monkey Boy). Geez, go get Nasrallah while you’re at it and put him out of Israel and Lebanon’s misery.

Four Israelis were “lightly wounded” by kassam shrapnel.

Two Qassam rockets were fired at Sderot Friday evening. One of the rockets landed near a house in town. Four people were lightly injured by shrapnel, and 10 other residents suffered from shock.

At least five Qassam rockets were fired at the western Negev on Friday morning. The rockets landed in open areas near the southern town of Sderot and south of Ashkelon.

Hamas continues the kassam launches because they think they can scare Israel into a “cease-fire” for the West Bank—in other words, carte blanche for Hamas to keep trying to build up weapons and cells in the West Bank, and launch suicide attacks. Like the ones that were prevented by catching the transport of explosives through a Nablus checkpoint.

The other Qassam fell in the town’s industrial area and damaged some equipment.

Three terrorists were blown to pieces by a direct Hellfire hit.

An Israeli airstrike hit a car traveling in Gaza City, killing three and wounding at least five, Palestinian security and medical officials said.

The army confirmed that it had targeted militants traveling in the vehicle. Hamas said its men were in the car that was hit.

An earlier airstrike had hit a Hamas training center south of Gaza City, destroying the compound and lightly injuring at least three, witnesses said.

If you ask me, the IAF should lie low for a day or two, wait until Hamas has one of those soccer-stadium rallies with thousands of hooded terrorists, and blow up the main stage. That would take out the leadership in one swift blow, and get quite a few martyr-wannabees while they’re at it.

But of course, we won’t see that happen. I don’t really understand why world opinion would be against Israel killing Hamas terrorists at a Hamas rally where they carry weapons and chant “Death to Israel,” but there you have it: It would cause yet another UN resolution condemning Israel.

Then again, it’s not like that would be anything different from the usual.

Geez, guys, how could you miss?

The IAF fired a missile late Thursday that exploded close to the house of Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in the Shati refugee camp next to Gaza City, Palestinian security officials said.

They said the missile hit a tin shack where Haniyeh’s guards sleep, but it was empty and no one was hurt.

The IDF said it hit a building used by Hamas in the camp, and the location of Haniyeh’s house was incidental.

What a waste of a missile. Unless, of course, the IDF was, oh, I don’t know, sending a message.

I wonder if they wrote Haniyeh’s name on the missile. Now that would have been a message, indeed.
