Commenting problems

Folks, sorry if you’ve been unable to log in and post a comment. Seems the login button got lost in the shuffle of the new template, and I haven’t had time to figure out what I did with it.

I’ll suspend the login process until I can fix it, or until I get too many stupid comments, depending on which comes first.

This new layout is too cool. Very tasteful!

I guess you don’t do hat tips, Meryl.

    ‘s okay.

I saw Leon Redbone in concert on Saturday. Got enough hat tips to last me a good while. The last time I saw him was over 25 years ago, and his act hasn’t changed much at all. Except that, to the best of my recollection, back then he didn’t repeatedly urge his audience to visit a website devoted to Lee Morse.

  3. I have no idea what you’re talking about, Ben.

    1) I noted the disappearance of the login button in a comment to your earlier post commending Jay for his work on the new theme.

    2) Leon Redbone tips his hat when taking the stage, when leaving it, and at other points during his performance. It’s part of his schtick. I mentioned him in my comment because as soon as I typed the phrase “hat tip” the visions of the concert snapped into my head, and I found the coincidence mildly amusing. Then, having followed Redbone’s advice and checked out that Lee Morse site, and thinking it sort of cool, I decided to see if I could work the link into the post.

    3) Speaking of links, I tried to put two into a comment in a different thread (Condi’s flip flop), and saw that the “preview” had merged the two links and swallowed all of the intervening text. I didn’t try to see what the comment would look like had I posted it, but instead opted to rewrite the comment to remove the second link. You might want to take a closer look.

  5. Oh.

No, I don’t give hat tips for things like that. Only for links to stories that I write about, which is what most people gives hat tips for.
