I’d just like to point out…

…that talking about zombie movies with friends (let alone playing Plants vs. Zombies on a regular basis) may lead to nightmares about zombies, which end up your fearing infection at the very last moment of the dream, until you are awakened by—a hot flash.

Sigh.

It’s a double whammy.

And what I’d really like to know is, who was the asshat in the dream that allowed the smart zombies to block us from the room with the bombs? We ran out of ammo, dammit. (And someone loaded my shotgun with blanks!)

I wonder if peroxide on a zombie cut on your leg protects you from infection? Well, I’ll probably find out in the next installment. (Oh, yeah. I sometimes have serial nightmares on the same theme. My subconscious is a nasty, nasty thing.)

My friend Eric (www.straightwhiteguy.com) would probably be glad to know that he is not the only person who suffers from Zombie-Fear.

  2. I use the Zombie Apocalypse as an explanation for many things. Verizon wants to know why I want copper wire phones instead of VOIP? Because when the Zombie Apocalypse comes, I will have a working phone line. Sarah and I went shooting and discovered that we are awesome shots with a rifle, and so are ready for the Zombie Apocalypse. Plus, my .22 is strong enough to kill a zombie if I hit it in the head. (Still getting a shotgun, though.) I’ve got the 4WD Jeep, the guns, some canned goods, live in a red state—I’m ready for it. Gotta remember to pick up the freeze-dried stuff, though. Then again, I live across the street from a Wal-Mart, so I’m set. :-)

I strongly recommend the shotgun for after the Zombie Apocalypse. You’ll be too busy either running or shaking with terror to aim that .22 accurately… why worry about having to make the dead-eye head tap when you can just blast away with a double load of shot? (Plus, the splatter patterns are so much cooler.)

Had a Zombie dream the other night too. Of course I’ve just finished reading Monster Hunter Vendetta so I’ve an excuse.
Shotguns allow the Zombies to get too close. Gotta have a layered approach to Zombie whacking.
Start thinning them out at long range with an M-14 with scope.
Closer in you switch to the M-16 with red dot sight.
Under 40 yds. is when the shotguns come into play.
If you’re down to handguns (.45s of course) you may want to save one bullet for yourself.
Hum … that I’ve given this so much thought may explain the nightmares.

  5. I’ll fight zombies with you anytime, Stretch.
