Echoes of a Shofar

Shanah Tovah! The sound of the shofar has lifted our people’s spirits, awakening their souls, for generations. The video below is the amazing story of the men who sounded the shofar at the Kotel during the British Anti-Jewish, sorry British Mandatory period. They were prohibited upon penalty of imprisonment from sounding the shofar for fear of upsetting the Arab population. My how things have not changed.

    Inspiring.

But riddle me this: given President Obama’s cowardly fear of enraging Islam, how could celebrating the High Holy Days, or Christmas NOT be viewed as a dangerous provocation of al-Islam?

Beautiful clip! Thanks so much for publishing it. Standing among thousands of Jews and hearing the Shofar at the Kotel is the most amazing experience in the world. Year after year it never changes–and it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Wishing you a sweet and bountiful year.
