Mohammed elBaradei: Israel more of a threat than NorKorea

Interesting. Mohammed elBaradei writes in the International Herald Tribune (owned by the New York Times) that he has the key to nuclear disarmament, and he manages to ignore completely North Korea, Syria, Pakistan’s contribution to the world’s nuclear black market, and find the real villain behind nuclear proliferation: Israel.

[…] The Middle East, home to the world’s most perilous and intractable conflict, will never be at peace until the Palestinian question is resolved. What compounds the problem is that the nuclear nonproliferation regime has lost its legitimacy in the eyes of Arab public opinion because of the perceived double-standards concerning Israel, the only state in the region outside the NPT and known to possess nuclear weapons.

Note the modifier “in the region.” That is used so that elBaradei can completely ignore North Korea, the only signatory of the NPT that withdrew from the treaty and proceeded to develop nuclear weapons (and pass them along to Syria).

India and Pakistan never signed the treaty. Pakistan was instrumental in the nuclear black market and most likely in helping Iran to build nuclear plants. If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, it will be thanks to A.Q. Khan and his nuclear proliferation of the “Islamic bomb.” But elBaradei doesn’t think that the recent release of Khan from house arrest is going to be an issue in stopping nuclear proliferation. No. He has found the real culprit behind the nations that want nukes: Israel. Of course.

Above all, we need to halt the glaring breach of core principles of international law such as limitations on the unilateral use of force, proportionality in self-defense and the protection of civilians during hostilities in order to avoid a repeat of the civilian carnage in Iraq and, most recently, in Gaza.

Somehow, the intellectual leaps you have to take from “Israel is using disproportionate force in Gaza” to “Israel is using disproportionate force in Gaza and that is causing nations like Iraq, Libya, and Iran to want nuclear weapons” are just not working for me.

But then again, I’m not the man who saw North Korea withdraw from the NPT and successfully test a nuclear weapon, so I can’t possibly be as qualified as he to tell the world what the real problem is. Because after all, it always comes down to the Jews, doesn’t it?

Al-Baradei calls the problem intractable but this is not true. All that is necessary to solve it is for the Muslims to stop attacking Israel, stop trying to destroy that country, stop trying to murder the Jews. But those thoughts never occur to him. When was the last time Israel fought Egypt? It hasn’t had any hostiities since the peace treaty thirty years ago. Egypt stopped attacking Israel and has had nothing to worry about from Israel since.

Al-Baradei knows this. All the Arabs and Muslims know this in their hearts, no matter what they say in public. But it is something they do not want to do. The wound to their vanity from Israel’s success is too great. So they will continue to attempt genocide to assauge their wounded vanity, to gratify their gigantically overblown self-love.

The dork wants proportionality in self-defense? So, what, is he going to choose the Palestinian children to slaughter in accordance with the latest success of Palestinian attacks on Israeli kindergartens? Does anyone at the UN have an effing mind?

ML above has it right, the Muslims are the vainest of people, and they will never accept Israel in peace. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to see peace shoved down their throats though…
