Gas money

Well, that’s depressing.

I used a single credit card to pay for all my gas expenses from June 30 to July 28. The total, counting tolls: $376.64.

Barack Obama says we can save a bundle if we just inflate our tires. (Stupid me, driving around on the rims. I can hardly wait for him to become president so he can correct all my other stupid habits.)

Well, a couple of weeks ago it finally happened–it cost me more to fill my Prizm than what I paid for my first car.

We’re currently paying the equivalent of about US$5 per US gallon in central Ontario. I have to drive about 60 miles a day, but fortunately it’s almost all on the highway. Needless to say, I’ve slowed down.

  4. And gas is still far too high. It was $2.73 in Richmond a year ago. It’s at $3.71 today (but you can find it for about $3.59 without having to look too far).

This is greatly affecting my budget. I was toying with giving up my Jeep. I may not have to toy with it anymore. I just did a budget and I’m worried that I’ll have almost no discretionary income after I buy the condo. I can’t afford to pay for a crappy gas mileage vehicle, no matter how much I love it.

  5. And now, more than ever, I am glad my home is only 4 miles from my office.
