And now, the calls for restraint

Once again, the world shows that Jewish blood is cheap to them.

Israeli politicians and defense officials have been calling for a more aggressive Israeli response to the near-daily rocket barrages out of Gaza. Attacks last week on the frequently targeted town of Sderot, including one near a crowded nursery school, led parents to pull their children out of school and brought demands for harsh retaliation.

“The question is not whether to create deterrence, but when,” said Public Security Minister Avi Dichter, a member of Olmert’s ruling Kadima party, told Israel Radio.

[…] In Washington, the State Department denounced the rocket attack, but called for Israeli restraint.

“We would only counsel, in this case Israel which has suffered injuries and losses as a result of attacks, to take into consideration the affects of what they might do in self defense on the overall political process,” spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.

Meantime, Hamas, the organization that Jimmy Carter, the UN, and members of the EU say Israel should negotiate with, is ecstatic over the success of the PIJ’s lucky shot:

“We consider this a victory from God for the resistance,” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said on Hamas radio. “We consider the resistance as the legitimate right of the Palestinians to defend themselves and restore their rights.”

Sure. Hamas wants peace. Now pull my other leg.

The peaceniks can ‘pull my finger’!

And of course, if Mexico was lobbing missiles into this country EVERYDAY the U.S. would “exercise restraint”.

We’d “exercise restraint” all OVER Mexico.

Those Stealth Fighters are DAM good at “exercising restraint”.

One of injured soldiers has had a leg pulled permanently – amputated.

I understand the idea of responding in a way that doesn’t alienate allies and negotiating partners.

I wish our allies would understand that our enemies will not respond to restraint and must be destroyed instead.

I wish our negotiating partners would bring results to the table and not just demands.

The idea of releasing prisoners is inane. They don’t appreciate their freedom. They just exult in beating the Jews out of something, getting a concession. Giving concessions in return never occurs to them.

Too bad if an IDF incursion harms Gazans. Gazans harm Israelis every day. Start off easy: cut the power. See if they take the hint.

Cheap? To most of the people of the world Jewish blood is worthless.

Ed, do not make the mistake of gradual escalation. Cut off everything but water all at once: electricity, food, gas, money, anything that comes into Gaza. Go the whole hog, totus porcus. Allow anyone who wants to leave via Egypt to do so, except the terrorists (Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, the Farfour Martyr of Allah Brigades, whatever). Kill them.

This is the gentle option. Personally, I’d raze Gaza from one end to the other, and let the shrapnel fall where it may.
