AP-speak: Bombing and murder are not truce violations

So what, exactly, does it take to violate a truce, according to the AP?

The agreement between the Palestinian factions came as a two-month truce between the Palestinians and Israel in Gaza was jeopardized by a Palestinian suicide bombing, the first since April, 2006.

Of course, we know the answer. Any “retaliation” by Israel for the suicide bombing will be declared either a violation of, or an end to, the truce.

  1. soccer dad says:

It appears the corruption of the language that started with defending Israel’s enemies has spread some.

Palestinians loyal to political rivals Fatah and Hamas have maintained calm on the streets of Gaza, on the first full day of a formal ceasefire.
The groups withdrew their troops from Gaza’s streets on Wednesday morning, despite reports of fresh violence.

Two Fatah policemen were killed hours into the ceasefire, but the group said it would maintain the truce.

It would appear the ceasefire no longer means what it once did.

  2. It is apparently the use of any equipment (tanks, airplanes, etc) that the Palestinians do not have.

So what Israel should do is make a bunch of the Katusha rockets, and whenever the Arabs launch 1, they should launch 1. If they launch another, Israel should launch 2. Then 4. Then 8. Then 16. Then 32. Etc etc etc.
