AP speaks terrorist

The AP, whose mission is to present the news in an unbiased manner, has a whopper of non-biased reporting in this paragraph.

Hamas’ failure to bring Fatah or other more moderate Palestinian lawmakers into the government was likely to set off painful Western aid cutbacks. The main bone of contention was Hamas’ refusal to compromise on its right to violent resistance against Israel and its rejection of the Jewish state’s legitimacy.

I believe the phrase that most people who are not terrorist sympathizers use is the one the AP normally uses: Hamas refuses to give up violence or recognize Israel.

But if you’re a palestinian writing or editing for the AP, apparently, palsympspeak is the voice du jour.

  1. David Foster says:

Truly unbelievable. This is directly analogous to:

“Germany refuses to give up its right to expanded Lebensraum in the East.”

  2. Alan Furman says:

Just business as usual. Here is some more:

A couple months ago the San Jose Mercury News, flagship of the moribund Knight-Ridder chain, reported on an exhibit on the life of Mohammad at the local chapter of “CAIR, a civil-rights[!] group.”

Why business as usual? Because left-wing political correctness has taken over the education, hiring, and management of journalists.
