No solutions in sight: Depressing news all ’round

Depressing news is all over the Asia Times. Which is not to say you shouldn’t read it.

Why the Bush Administration is re-thinking its relationship with Pakistan

The Russia Factor: Watching the former Soviet Union chiefs choose between Iran or the West. (I’m not holding up great hope for our side.)

Iran’s position of strength: Why it will be a lot harder to take out Iran’s nuclear ambitions (and then throw in the latest news about Russia’s refusal to invoke the UN Security Council).

Depressing. Very depressing.

  1. I hope that this attempt to lighten the mood will be appreciated:

    Be of a good cheer!

  2. Li'l Mamzer says:

The run-up to the inevitable US Air Force bombing campaign against Iranian nuclear targets has begun.
Today on Fox News, Brit Hume brought on a retired Air Force general who just laid it out for us: a sustained series of air strikes using lessons learned from bunker-buster attacks against Saddam’s buried facilities.
Do not despair, the US Air Force can and will remove the Iranian nuclear threat some time this year, whether or not China and Russia agree.
