The AP and Holocaust “Doubters”

When people who are not the president of Iran express “doubts” that the Holocaust is true, they are called Holocaust deniers. One of the most famous, of course, is David Irving, who lost a libel suit in the U.K. and is currently in prison in Austria for Holocaust denial.

But the AP has created a new label for Holocaust deniers: They are Holocaust “doubters.”

Iran Leader Reiterates Holocaust Doubts
By ALI AKBAR DAREINI

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reiterated his doubt about the Holocaust and called on Muslim nations to take a proactive stand on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, state media reported Tuesday.

The president’s comments, published on Iranian state television’s Web site, were the second time in a week he has expressed doubt about the Nazi genocide of Jews during World War II. In October, Ahmadinejad also said Israel should be “wiped off the map.”

“If the killing of Jews in Europe is true,” the Web site quoted Ahmadinejad as saying during a speech at an Islamic conference in Tehran, “and the Zionists are being supported because of this excuse, why should the Palestinian nation pay the price?”

Could the AP get any worse?

I doubt it.

Actually they can get worse. Now that they have changed deny to doubt can uncertain be far behind? In fact, let doubt simmer a while and they while be talking about the unfairly smeared David Irving.

  2. Lil Mamzer says:

Soon the historical facts of the Holocaust will be officially “controversial”.

Some will “claim” the Holocaust happened.

Everything’s relative, there is no right and wrong. It’s all a matter of perspective.

  3. Michael Lonie says:

Yes, the AP can always dig their hole deeper. I have faith in them.
