The EU and suppressed reports

Say, remember a couple of years ago when the EU report on the causes of European anti-Semitism–which pointed squarely at the European Muslim population–was suppressed because, well, it would make it look like Muslims hate Jews?

Well, the EU has suppressed another report, only this time, it’s “highly critical” of Israel’s policies in East Jerusalem. However, the EU has quite clearly sent out press releases telling exactly why they are going to suppress the report, replete with juicy bits of the report for Reuters and others to slaver over.

So as far as I can tell, the EU’s way of “suppressing” a report is to say exactly why they are suppressing it, get quotes from the various EU personalities, make sure to pile as many negatives on Israel as possible, and then blame Israel for the suppression of the report. Yep.

The EU didn’t have a whole lot to say about why they suppressed their report on anti-Semitism. They leaked zero information on it, and did not have quotes from leading EU dignitaries on how the Muslims would be upset, or it was a “sensitive time” to release the report. They simply suppressed it.

If it weren’t for the Israeli media, the report would never have been published anywhere.

You can get the Israeli view of the one-sidedness of the report at the Jerusalem Post. Don’t expect to see it anywhere outside the Jewish and Israeli media.

But no, there is no international bias against Israel.
