Dead Al Qaeda leader: Whodunit?

It’s a mystery. People are accusin’, but people aren’t talkin’: Who killed da terrorist?

MIRAN SHAH, Pakistan (AP) – Shrapnel that appeared to be from an American-made missile was found Sunday at the house where Pakistan said a top al-Qaida operative was killed in an explosion, although President Bush’s national security adviser declined to confirm the death.

U.S. and Pakistani officials would not verify an NBC report, citing anonymous officials, that the attack on the house where Hamza Rabia reportedly died was launched by a U.S. drone.

But local residents found at least two pieces of shrapnel at the blast scene inscribed with the designation of the Hellfire missile, which is carried by the U.S. Air Force’s unmanned, remote-controlled Predator aircraft.

The metal pieces bore the designator “AGM-114,” the words “guided missile” and the initials “US.”

John Pike, director of the defense Web site GlobalSecurity.org, said the Hellfire is used almost exclusively by the U.S. military. Al-Qaida operatives would be unlikely to have Hellfire missiles, Pike said, although he said the possibility could not be completely discounted.

Please. Can you think of at least one other country that uses Hellfire missiles? Here’s a hint: Nasrallah and Yassin were killed by them.

That’s right. I’m betting it was the Joooos killed Hamza.

  1. Take a look at today’s Guardian. It has an even sexier, albeit quite mossy one – about the late Pakistan’s president General Zia ul-Haq.

Of course, one interesting idea would be if it was found that the dead “man” (is there a valid term for a male subhuman – not a member of anormal animal species) kept shrapnel pieces as a souvenir. How do they know that the explosion (and shrapnel) was from a missile.

Why don’t they just paint an Israeli flag on the damned things and get it over with?

Isn’t there a way to eliminate markings on missiles? Why take the guesswork out of it?

BTW – does this mean another $25.00 to MDA?

One doubts that Israel wouldgo so far to kill a terrorist. But the terrorists thought they were safe in Entebbe, Uganda too, didn’t they? Heh, heh, heh.

More seriously I expect the US did fire the missile, and hurrah for it. The more of these terrorist scum we kill the better. The terrorists set the ground rules; them or us. They are probably getting a bit upset with that now.
