Briefly

Not much time this morning. Let’s take a quick look at the news.

The UN sponsors a toothless resolution against Syria. Yes, toothless. The phrases concerning sponsoring terrorism and promising sanctions were removed. Nevertheless, Syria rejects it and goes off on a tirade that pisses off Britain and the U.S. Smart move.

It looks like the UN is going to actually create a Holocaust remembrance day, and the Muslim nations will not be able to stop it. Color me shocked. (Of course, the David Dukes and ex-Jews of the world will not be happy, either, but y’know, life sucks when you’re one of them, anyway.) I only skimmed the article, but did not see Reuters’ usual anti-Israel tonalities. Of course, they generally don’t pick on Jews unless the word “Israeli” is involved.

Well, this should strike fear into the hearts of many: The EU is going to help monitor the Rafah crossing. I wonder if they’ll be any better working for the EU than they were for the UN.

Here’s a laugh: White House Urges Abbas to act Against Islamic Jihad. They want Abbas to crack down in PIJ, and ignore the fact that Hamas is running in the palestinian elections. Oh, yeah, that works.

And that’s it for me. Time for work.

  1. Egypt’s ambassador whined after the vote was taken about how the day ought to include victims of ALL genocides.

You know, like the Sudanese murdered trying to cross the border with Egypt? (hush hush!)

  2. Michael Lonie says:

All genocides? Lessee, would that include the one against the Africans of the Southern Sudan, and the one currently in progress in Darfur, and the one against the Armenians at the time of WWI?

    Just askin’.
