On the heels of Israel returning the bodies of terrorists to the Palestinian Authority, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist managed to murder an IDF soldier.
The exchange began after the militant cut through the fence separating the Hamas-run Gaza Strip and southern Israel. The militant started shooting, prompting Israeli troops to respond, said Col. Tal Hermoni.
“The forces worked quickly and prevented a larger attack against the civilians in the area,” Hermoni told Army Radio.
Oh, and the soldier wasn’t the target. He wasn’t supposed to die. It was a kidnapping attempt. Or maybe just a terrorist heading for civilians.
Golani Staff-Sergeant Netanel Moshiashvili, 21, from Ashkelon, was killed Friday in a clash with a Palestinian terrorist, near Kissufim.
The Islamic Jihad initially said that it was one of its operatives who infiltrated Israel, but later recanted the statement. The terrorist’s mission is believed to have been the abduction of an IDF soldier.
The attack was followed by rockets from Gaza.
By the way, that “peace gesture”? Returning the terrorist bodies? The PA is really stoked about getting their killers back.
Among the guests were also Hamas members and prisoners released as part of the Shalit deal. The terrorists’ relatives hailed the martyrs and members of Hamas’ military wing. They also spoke out against Israel and cried “One million martyrs march to Jerusalem.”
“Until now, the martyrs were numbers to the Zionists and now they will revert to names of heroes,” one Palestinian said.
The terrorists’ coffins were covered in Palestinian flags and placed in the Mukataa’s central square. The seven terrorists who carried out the Savot Hotel attack in Tel Aviv in 1975 were given a special honor.
There will never be peace with the Palestinians as long as they consider mass murderers of Jews their “heroes.” At best, there will be two states living side by side in a cold peace, with the occasional attempted or successful terror attack from “Palestine” into Israel.
Peace will only come when Israel defeats the palestinians so decisively they abandon their militant strategy. The international community, including the US will never let that happen. They prefer perpetual conflict to an Israeli victory.
A Palestinian murdered two children and their parents…then, realizing he hadn’t finished the job, he went back and murdered a baby. The Palestinian response was to lionize him, name places after him, call him a hero.
What possible agreement can there be with such people?
