Friday three-day weekend brief briefs

The Obama administration grows a pair: Iran has been warned that if they close the Strait of Hormuz, there will be consequences. For real. He’s moved more troops into the area. Now, if only the administration would help the Iranian opposition. And the Syrian opposition. And get it right on Israel.

And now some links.

Duchess of York charged with a crime in Turkey for secretly videotaping child abuse in an orphanage

This is why the Jewish population of America isn’t growing the way it should be (and what an unfunny attempt at humor)

Yeah, sure. Iran doesn’t want nukes like I don’t want to be a successful author.

Looks like I was right to take all my 401k money out of European stock funds. More downgrades are coming.

I note the obligatory “bad, bad occupation” remark. Not within the scope of the article, of course, but I wonder if he contemplates what would happen if the occupation ended in the current situation. Probably not; his Jewishness is like my socks. Sometimes I put on blue ones, sometimes black ones, sometimes argyles. Some days I may feel like just wearing crew socks and other days I just put on white athletic socks. Each of my pairs of socks has its own charms and uses and depending on how I feel I wear this or that.

I agree that it is an unfunny attempt (which fails) at humor. Not only is the child not Jewish at all, but the writer does not understand what it is to be Jewish. It a a sad and pathetic article.
