Monday afternoon briefs

So, are we still sending funds and technology to Lebanon, then? Hizballah has found CIA spies in its midst, and it makes you wonder: Did the technology we gave Lebanon in the past few years–the tech that helped them find Israeli spies–help them out American CIA spies? Awesome job, Obama! Nothing like giving them the rope to hang us with.

Cheat and retreat time: Iran says it’s going to cooperate with the IAEA. And yet, there is evidence of heightened activity at an Iranian nuke site. Gee, I wonder if we should believe they really mean it this time? /sarc.

Hmmmm: Israel is boosting its diplomatic mission with Turkey. Mind you, Erdogan is still not a friend to Israel, but it does make you go hmmm.

Why the PA remains intransigent: The EU just raised its aid dollars to the PA. Well, if you got money every time you did whatever you want, and never got punished for not doing what other people want, you’d remain intransigent, too. But then, it allows the EU to blame the Jews, and thus try to lift the guilt of the Holocaust. Oh, am I not supposed to bring that up anymore? Darn.

Country that had illegal nuke plants lambasts Israel for not having illegal nuke plants: Of course, that’s not the spin the AP is giving the story, but Israel has never signed the non-proliferation treaty, and Iran and Syria, which did, both are or were building illegal nuclear weapons plants. I note that the AP story doesn’t point out Syria’s illegal nuclear weapons plants being bombed by Israel and chastised by the UN. You’d think it would be relevant. If the shoe were on the other foot, the media wouldn’t hesitate to point out that Israel had illegal nukes. But I repeat myself.

    Meryl,

Between the first topic and the fourth hasn’t it occurred to you that this behaviour of Obama and the EU is on purpose?
Pity I didn’t record every instance when the US/Foggy Bottom and the EU rewarded recalcitrant Arab behaviour, with regard to complying with agreements and treaties, with money and dressing down Israel to calm the “victims”.
How many times when the Arabs screwed up big time with violence along came the two with more funds and heated words for the dreaded Israelis.
By now it should be clear that all along since 1948, for the Brits for sure, the general attitude is to go along along with the Arabs and let them grind down the Jews.
I’m sure you’re aware of the findings of a Senate inspection of the Arab’s refugees in the 1950s
    A Tale of Two Galloways

On 25 May 1953 in testimony before the Subcommittee on Near East and Africa of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee the Reverend Karl Baehr, Executive Secretary of the American Christian Palestine Committee stated:

The political picture within the Arab refugee camps is important to an understanding of the problem, and I must say it is of special significance to this committee.

In April of 1952, Sir Alexander Galloway, then head of the UNRWA for Jordan, said to our study group, and this is really a direct quote from what he said:

It is perfectly clear than the Arab nations do not want to solve the Arab refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as an affront against the United Nations, and as a weapon against Israel.

Then, by way of emphasis he said:

Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.

This simple fact has been more and more clearly demonstrated as I have on repeated occasions visited the refugee centers. Close supervision of the refugee centers is being maintained by the Arab League so that the presentations from camp to camp vary in no detail.
    …….

[56] Committee on Foreign Relations, Palestine Refugee Program, Hearings before the Subcommittee on the Near East and Africa of the Committee on Foreign Relations, United States Senate, Eighty-Third Congress, First Session on the Palestine Refugee Program, May 20, 21, and 25, 1953 (Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1953), p. 103.

If one reads through, from the time Galloway joined UNRWA, it becomes obvious that the International crowd just let this slide, as it was in their interest.
Obama and ilk are not naive nor stupid though Congress is most likely ignorant which most probably says a lot about how they prepare themselves for a legislative future.

By the way, yesterday I was watching the behaviour of a grandmother and her spoiled grandson who had received ticking off for kicking a ball too near to the glass paned front of a building, one of which he had broken about a month ago.
The grandmother came to his defense by chiding the complainant telling him that he had upset her grandson, who was now sulking behind one of the pillars to the entrance.
You must have come across some of this nonsense when dealing with kids at some stage.
Doesn’t this remind you of the behaviour of the West and their Arabs towards Israel?
