no doubt, CAIR represents the advance guard of *something*. i would place them, rather, on the Saudi end of Mideast subversive activities , that is, their “suggesting” the toppling of a .. secular dictatorship [see Syria’s ban on burkas and niqabs] led by a minority Twelver in favor of a regime open to .. Wahhabist “petro-Islam” influences — Syria as a McDonalds-style franchise, basically. in short, six of one, a half dozen of the other.
a clash i’m sort of looking forward to will come when Iran’s nuclear ambitions are neutralized. the Saudis are calling for this with far more insistence than either the Americans or the Israelis. what they don’t understand, though, is *they are next*. the Saudis think that their well-documented American investments will insulate them from the naked fact that .. the American people are generally well-disposed twards the state of Israel, whereas they couldn’t care less about the Medieval Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
