That Hamas moderation is going to happen any day now: Now Hamas is rounding up “spies” that turn out to be, hm, that one guy that pissed off the most neighbors for whatever reason, or the person who looks nervous because he’s being questioned by guys with automatic weapons, or maybe because it’s a day that ends with a “y.” At least the media aren’t pretending anymore that Hamas is just a bunch of moderate guys who ultimately want peace with Israel. That’s just the idiots like Carter.

Palestinians rioted in Jerusalem, attacked buses, overturned vehicles, stabbed a passenger, stoned worshippers at the Western Wall, and the AP includes a quote from Abbas on—settlements. And what’s the headline? Violence in east Jerusalem clouds peace efforts. I suppose we should be grateful that AP no longer capitalizes “east.”
I love the way the media will sometimes report about “collaborators” who help Israel and report on it with an air seriousness. But really it’s about who on the outs with those in power because someone in authority doesn’t like him or covets his wife, his ox or his donkey. The PA (and Hamas) might occasionally get the right guy, but I guess for the most part its show, as you observe.
