Winter is a-comin’ in

This will be an interesting day. There’s a major snowstorm headed my way that’s due to start dropping flakes on Richmond around 4 p.m. I’m heading up to Company in Northern Virginia for the day (but I plan on leaving no later than two), which is also due for a winter snowstorm, but much later tonight.

And I really, truly will need to buy milk. So I can join the “OMG! It’s going to snow! Must buy milk and bread!” crowd.

Plus, I never did get a chance to get to Kohl’s yesterday for new winter boots. Well, maybe on the way home today.

I’m not worried about the snow. I have a Wrangler and I lived in NJ most of my life. I can drive in snow quite well. It’s the traffic that bothers me.

Sorry for the lightness of posting this week. Work has been busy. I expect to be able to catch up next week, what with the holiday coming on. I think it’s time for another post explaining to the morons out there why I won’t bother approving their anti-Israel comments. (The last one left me a second comment telling me that I am a “disgusting person” because of that. Um. No. I’m just someone who won’t do what you want her to do, and you, sir, are a spoiled child who doesn’t like being told “No.”)

I may publish excerpts from an email from a college student who explained to me that the world is now post-Zionist, and therefore, Israel is irrelevant. I think I really frightened her, because she closed down her Yahoo account after I responded. I don’t think she understands that her IP address was in her email, which allowed me to tell her what college she was sending me email from, and that every page she read on my site was logged to that IP address. (P.S.: If you don’t want people knowing things about you, don’t use your real name as your email address, and don’t be on Classmates.com and Facebook.) Honestly, I didn’t mean to scare her. Just educate her.

I’m off now. Gotta go up north and back in (sigh) six hours.

I just googled anonymizer and there are plenty of sites offering free anonymizer services to both go to sites and to send email. It is interesting that the idiots who most need to keep themselves anonymous are the least likely to actually keep their address secret. Note that I do not try to hide anything about myself.

Have a good Rosh Chodesh (today) and end of Chanukah (Tonight and Shabbos).

The worst part about snow up here is all the people who don’t know how to drive.

I stay off the road if I can. You need your head on a swivel to avoid the idiots flailing by
    with all 4 wheels spinning.
You also have to watch out for abandoned cars. I’ve seen them abandoned on 395, in the right
lane, in the middle of intersections and anywhere else the people decide they can’t drive.

I’m looking forward to reading said email and your reply.

    Safe driving Meryl.

I picked up a pair of pink (kind of Barbi-ish) insulated Wellingtons for my daughter from Lands End. She loves them! Perfect for Northern California.

*chuckling* I track down people who troll the poetry site I admin. Silly kids, one of these days.

    Remember the milk

By all means, out these cretins. Let ’em say what they want to say in full view of the world… and may they enjoy the consequences.

I wonder how many of the German Jews in the 1920’s thought that Judaism itself was irrelevant and decided to join the “reform” Judaism movement as a first step so that they could better fit in as Germans. It did not seem to help them just a few years later. Do people ever learn from history [example j street] , or, are we just destined to repeat it?
Good luck in the snow, we had our first snow storm in Minneapolis a week ago with many problems, AWD or 4WD sure does help, but watch out for the others!

    This slays me:

    LOL!

    :O)

    That’s pretty funny!

How was the ride? My friends were driving up from Tampa and it took them from around 7 to around 11:30 to get to Crystal City from Richmond.
    Ugh.

I have never figure out why toilet paper is such an emergency as one can keep it indefinitely. I can imagine the people who still have a basement full of toilet paper from the last snow that they never got around to using. They are talking about 12 – 24 inches here in Baltimore.
