Time to give

There are a few charitable organizations who could use some extra money right about now.

You can send a pizza to the IDF. (We raised money for a whole company in 2006.)

You can contribute to Magen David Adom, the Israeli version of the Red Cross.

More ways to give goodies to soldiers. And a liveblog. (H/T: Jameel.)

Make any other suggestions in the comments, and I’ll bring the links into the post.

I gave to MDA yesterday. It’s time to donate new bullet proof ambulances to the people who need them most.

I gave to MDA this morning. They are on high alert, risking their lives to save others. Most of them are volunteers. Since I’m living in the U.S. and can’t donate blood from here, the least I can do is support them with funds that can be used to purchase flak jackets, helmets, and other protective gear while they are helping others. MDA is Israel’s second line of defense and we need to do what we can to provide them with the necessary tools for them to do what they do best, save lives in Israel.

I felt compelled to make a big donation to Magen David Adom since they seem to be behind every headline. Thanks to the speed and dedication of Magen David Adom (MDA) personnel who respond to every incident, patients and victims of terrorist attacks are treated, stabilized and transferred the hospitals with skill and compassion. I can’t think of a more worthy cause.

Thank you so much for these tips. I was looking for some way to help (in addition to prayer).

I agree that people should be supporting Magen David Adom to support the heroid volunteers and staff who are working tirelessly to save lives in Israel. I called the Southeast Region office of American Friends of Magen David Adom at 800-626-0046 since I live in South Florida and made the contribution. Some of my friends made it through the website at http://www.afmda.org. Either way it’s a real mitzvah!

My husband and I are looking into who to give to today. We’re planning to give some to Magen David Adom. Also, what do you think of this organization?

I would give it all to American Friends of Magen David Adom. While prayer is good, medical supplies are desperately needed to save the Israeli people.

Oh, I agree! I guess I thought the Joshua Fund people also offered humanitarian aid.
