ACTUAL transcript of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. This radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10-10-95.
What I didn’t know (until last week), that it had been made into a video!
As great as it is, the story is not true!. And the Navy even has a page devoted to its debunking.
I don’t care, it’s still a riot.

A group called the Gaither Vocal Band recorded a version of this story in a song around the year 1984. It was called “I am the Lighthouse”. It’s pretty good.
