IDF to create an Israeli West Point

One of the most fearsome armies in the world is about to get a little more fearsome:

The IDF plans to establish a military academy, a senior army source revealed Monday.

The institution of higher education, to be modeled after the United States Military Academy at West Point, will grant bachelors as well as masters degrees and perhaps even doctorates.

The IDF is hoping to receive permission from the Israel Council for Higher Education to go ahead with the project soon.

Plans for the project were announced at a press meeting held last week to mark the new structure of the IDF Special Staff and Command College.

In wake of lessons learned from the Second Lebanon War last summer, students from the three branches of the IDF—air, land and sea—are studying together in the same course for the first time.

The smartest, toughest Jews in the world are about to work towards making Jews even smarter and tougher. Make us proud, ladies and gentlemen. No. Make us prouder.

Jewish pilots have consistently handed our American pilots their collective ass’s since we’ve “fought” war games together. Even WITH older generation equipment.

Jewish soldiers have, without doubt or question kicked muslim ass EVERY TIME they’ve tried to “push Israel into the sea”.

I can only hope that this revelation of a new academy makes those same idiots quiver in their boots, (are boots allowed by Allah? Or are they too modern?) the only thing I can say about this is:

I’m dam glad they are on OUR side, and only wish that the REST of the world was as ready to protect innocents against evil as Israel is.

Let us pray that the leftist clowns such as Shalom Achshav (Peace Now the Israeli equivalent of MoveOn.org) do not poison the education that the attendees get as they have the public schools and universities in Israel (and their equivalents have done in the US).

  3. John M says:

I guess I had always assumed that there WAS a military academy in Israel. Interesting.

  4. Joel Rosenberg says:

I think the key point is missing from the story — who gets to go? Is it going to be modeled on West Point or Sandhurst? (I hope not — a huge flaw in most western armies is that officers are almost always selected before they’ve ever been soldiers.)

Or is it going to be modeled on the War College? One of the reasons the IDF is as good as it is is that officers are, by and large, selected from proven soldiers.
