Vacation time

I am still on vacation, and not much inclined to post about things of importance. I have not cooked since Thursday night, had fresh bagels for breakfast the last two days, slept like a baby until about 7:30 every morning which, alas, seems to be the time my body has decided is its new wakeup time, and had dinner paid for me for three nights running. My favorite hairdresser has been visited; Kim and I sat by the pool today; the Yourish siblings were reunited for the first time in, I think, two years (Dave and I managed to annoy Eric, as we have been doing probably since about the time Dave could crawl); the Jeep top was removed and teenagers did get driven in it; I bought a new headset for my cell phone (to replace the broken one now being used for air traffic control at Sarah’s house) so I don’t get fined in NJ; managed to go all NJ on every driver that pissed me off (and in NJ, there are a lot of them); enjoyed the gorgeous scenery that is the Garden State during my drive up and down Route 206 (and eff you to all of you who never bothered to see anything but the NJ Turnpike and then generalized that as what NJ looks like); did NOT stop at Drumthwacket to ask if Governor Corzine was using his seatbelt regularly now, even though I drove right past the governor’s mansion; and, finally, got to play with not one, but TWO puppies—Dave’s new Golden Retriever pup, who adores me, and the puppy depicted below, Puddin’, who was last seen on these pages smashing the Hulk, and who fell asleep in my lap during the Simpsons because Kim was unavailable.

Puddin' smashes the Hulk

Oops. She did it again. Cuteness overload trumps Hulk every time.

Going to bed soon. Tired. Yes, vacations are tiring.

But enjoyable. Home tomorrow, alas. There’s time for another dip in the pool, though, and I’m pretty sure we’ll go out for breakfast. Waffles, I think. Maybe home fries. Mmm.

Meryl, I think that you just might turn into a caninophile. It’s OK. You can still keep your kitties.
