The attacks on Hamas are working

They’re running scared.

A senior Hamas official said Tuesday that the group would consider talks on a cease-fire, if Israel first stopped its “mad attacks.”

“The aggression must stop so we can talk about a comprehensive cease-fire,” said Ahmed Youssef, an aide to Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas. “The government is working on expanding the truce. This is a national interest.”

Hamas terrorists have turned off their cell phones and gone into hiding. The leadership is worried that there’s a Hellfire missile out there for each of them. Most assuredly, there is. If the idiots in charge of Israel let the IDF keep this up, you will see a lessening of the effectiveness of Hamas.

They don’t ask for cease fires unless they’re feeling the heat. This time, no deal, says Tzipi Livni.

Here’s hoping they mean it.

I would be interested in finding out more about the Israeli intelligence machine. The fact that they are able to track these guys by the minute and take them out surgically while avoiding collateral casualties is amazing.

Based on what I have read (in the press, web sites, etc) in open source non-fiction about intelligence activities, it is best if we do not hear details. Remember what happened when President Clinton revealed that NSA had been listening in to Osama Bin Laden’s calls home. Also remember what happened when the N.Y. Times revealed the financial clearinghouse monitoring that allowed us to track a number of terrorist cells.

While it would be interesting, if we find out, they would also find out and be able to avoid being tracked.

Actually, it is better if they think that the good guys can do more than is actually possible. It would keep them from trying things.

  3. Herschel says:

No doubt some of the tracking information is coming from the so called “moderate” fatah group. It is temporarly in their interest to have Israel inflict as much damage as possible to hamas. Long term, I would not trust any of these barbarians.

  4. Michael Lonie says:

Keep it up. There is an old military maxim that goes: Press hard on a rout. If Hamas is feeling the heat this is no time to let up, but to intensify the action until all the members of Hamas still alive are either in jail or Damascus.

As for making an agreement, the only thing you’ll get from these scum is a Treaty of Hudaybiyya. Fuggeddaboudit.

  5. Ed Hausman says:

A “comprehensive truce” means that next time, they’ll let us not shoot back at them in Gaza AND Judea and Samaria.
