POTUS vs. POTUS

It seems that Carter’s (almost) trouble-free sailing with his “Palestine: Peace or Apartheid” opus is coming to an end. Here is what another POTUS has to say about this attempt to be universally liked (by the Arab street):

Former President Bill Clinton, in a handwritten letter to AJC Executive Director David Harris, voiced appreciation for his efforts to expose the inaccuracies in President Jimmy Carter’s book on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “Thanks so much for your articles about President Carter’s book. I don’t know where his information (or conclusions) came from …” said Clinton. “I’m grateful.”

Three cheers for Bill Clinton! Whatever his faults I always felt that he was a true friend of Israel.

  2. Ryan Frank says:

Except when he was trying to force the ‘roadmap to peace’ down everyone’s throats for his ‘legacy’, sure.

Still, good on him for calling Carter on his BS.

  3. hydralisk says:

Exactly, Ryan. He has every reason a Clinton could ever want to see the record set straight — his own pride.

  4. Gary Rosen says:

You don’t have to be a big fan of Clinton to acknowledge he’s never sunk to the Jew-baiting antisemitic depths of Carter.

  5. Ryan Frank says:

Very true Gary, but thats a pretty low bar.
