Blame the father, not the children

This is wrong.

The children of an Austrian rabbi who attended an Iranian conference that questioned the Holocaust have been expelled from their school and told no other Jewish school in Austria will take them, their father said Tuesday.

Moishe Arye Friedman said he has begun legal proceedings against the school. He said his four school-age children were told to leave Monday.

Friedman showed a letter with school letterhead that explained that one of the reasons for the expulsions was his “outrageous behavior” in attending the Holocaust conference last month.

The father is a scumbag. But his children don’t deserve to be punished for his actions.

  1. Paul says:

I agree with you Meryl. His children are innocents.

  2. Joel says:

The father is a scumbag. But his children don’t deserve to be punished for his actions.

What are the odds that the children will wind up the same way?

  3. About the same that someone was going to ask that very question.

The children are innocent. That is the only pertinent fact in this story. They did not go to Iran.

  4. Yankev says:

I wonder if “Rabbi” Weiss was formally placed in cherem? One of the consequences of cherem is that no one is allowed to teach the offender’s minor children.

  5. chsw says:

Has the father taught the children to kiss up to dictators who want to kill their extended family? Also, are the children actually there, as it was reported that his wife left him – usually wives are the presumptive custodial parents. Moreover, if he is willing to literally kiss up to Ahmedinajad, can anyone really trust what Friedman says?

  6. Once again: The children did not go to Iran.

By that logic, we should kill the children of terrorists who have been indoctrinated in terror, even before they commit a crime.

The implications you make are, quite frankly, heinous. And totally unproven. Cite them, or stop it.
