What Media Bias?

Different media organizations have different boilerplate copy for different topics. I found some interesting boilerplate copy regarding the previous post on Iran’s leader calling for the destruction of Israel.

From AFP:

Iran is frequently accused of funding and supplying Palestinian militant groups, but the clerical regime says it only provides “moral” backing. Tehran also refuses to recognise Israel.

From Xinhuanet:

Iran has been strongly sympathetic to the struggle of the Palestinians for their independence and against the Israeli occupation since the country’s Islamic Revolution in 1979.

From Iran Focus News:

Iran’s official policy is to call for the annihilation of the Jewish state. The country’s clerical rulers have been strongly opposed to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ attempts to reach a comprehensive peace settlement with Israel. In August, Israel removed Jewish settlements from the Gaza Strip after decades of occupation.

Interesting, isn’t it, how the AFP whitewashes the Iranian regime’s murderous intent toward Israel? Why is that, I wonder? I mean, you expect China to be anti-Israel, what with their Communism still rampant—but the AFP is actually less balanced than a site called Iran Focus, which aims to bring us Iranian news “fair and balanced,” to coin a phrase.

I know AFP isn’t a widely-read news service in America. But I wonder how widespread it is in Europe.

The anti-Israel media bias of European nations is contributing to the anti-Semitic viewpoints of those nations. Not that they needed any help. It’s just the continuation of a long trend.

Bitter? Me? Never.
