Late Tuesday roundup

Long day in NorVA today, so these are late.

The Palestinian state will not be denied: Mahmoud Abbas is making Obama and the EU his bitches, pushing forward with his plan to unilaterally declare the fictional statelet of East Palestine. Meanwhile, in the fictional statelet of West Palestine (a.k.a. the Gaza Strip), Hamas has clearly stated that they’re not on board with the state-declaring. Why? Because all of “historical Palestine” (a.k.a. Israel) is what they want declared. And “historic Palestine” is an utter lie.

Turkey threatens U.S. company over Cyprus; no harangue yet from Hillary: So, you think this one is going to get any action? Noble Energy is the Houston-based company that’s been all over the eastern Med finding gas fields for countries. Turkey is threatening Cyprus. Cyprus is using Noble energy. It’s an accident waiting to happen. And there is nothing but silence from NATO, the EU, the UN, and the U.S. about Turkey’s belligerency. No surprise there. They don’t censure Mad Mahmoud when he spouts anti-Semitism at the UN, either.

The CSM whitewashes Hamas—again. Really, is anyone surprised by this? The story first claims that Hamas is “split” over whether or not to support Abbas’ bid for a state. See above for a four-day-old story that utterly contradicts that claim. And as you wend your way through the story, which says Hamas merely, ah, “took over” from Fatah in Gaza, you do not find a single Hamas spokesman who goes on record saying Hamas should approve the bid. In fact, the only people the CSM can find to support the bid are all—wait for it—analysts. Way to go, CSM! Your anti-Israel cred is safe.
