IT’S PALIN!!!

Fox News confirms that John McCain has chosen Alaska Governon Sarah Palin for his vice presidential pick.

This is the BEST pick possible. It shows that the Republicans are just as progressive as the Dems this time around, and I’m betting that a lot of angry Hillary voters will now give a lot more thought to voting for McCain.

I’ve been hoping for this for a while. I don’t care that she’s more conservative than I’d like. What I like is that women have not been shut out yet again. I loathe Hillary, but I do agree with those who resent the rise of Obama, the far less qualified [male] candidate, over the woman who’s been around a lot longer, and working a lot harder.

I was already going to vote for McCain, but this would have locked it up for me.

Sarah Palin may become the nation’s first female vice president. Awesome.

  1. Mr. Bingley says:

The best part is that she has more executive experience than Obama, McCain and Biden combined, and she’s never shied away from tough issues by voting ‘present.’

  2. Don says:

I’ve been desperately hoping for this pick too, and it elevates McCain in my mind enormously. Governor Palin has both competence and integrity in large measures. She is exactly what the GOP needs to see front and center – not only for her voter appeal but for the soul of the Party.

  3. Jeff says:

    There goes McCain’s inexperience argument.

  4. E.D. Kain says:

    Yourish–yes, exactly! My thoughts exactly!

Bingley, the executive bit was essential if you ask me. And she’s a “maverick” and an “outsider” two more perks.

Jeff–nonsense! She’s the number 2 on the ticket. First off, that means she can “learn as she goes” and second, and even better, any argument Obama/Biden makes cannot include her inexperience without reflecting that directly back on Obama.

Kinda like anytime Obama mentions McCain’s long stay in the Senate, you see Biden grimace!

  5. Jeff, no way. Obama is the presidential candidate. Palin is the VP candidate. The VP can learn on the job. The president can’t.

  6. John M. says:

Now all those lefties who don’t vote for McCain are SEXISTS!

  7. Hugh says:

If Democrats point to Palin’s lack of experience, people simply need to be reminded of Harry S. Truman.

He was just a Prendergast machine politician, yet he took charge during World War II, made the correct decision to nuke Japan, thus saving countless Allied lives, and went on to confront the Soviet Union.

Yes, he was controversial, but his “lack” of experience didn’t handicap him for a moment.
