A happy and kosher Passover to all of my Jewish readers.

“In every generation, they rise up against us, but the Holy One, blessed be He, rescues us from their hands.”

We will recite those words tonight. They have never lost their meaning. I’m afraid they never will.

But we’re still here. And we’ll still be here, when Hamas is as obscure—and dead—as the Hittites.

Why yes, one more kitten post

Can’t help it.

I see tufts of hair between his toes. I think he’s a Maine Coon mix.

He’s playing by himself now, which means I can get some breakfast. I’m going to keep him in the office for a week, per Wendy’s suggestion. It may be longer, though. My stairs are half-open on the bottom, and I worry he’ll fall through going up or down. He may have to be kept upstairs until I’m comfortable he’s big enough to navigate the stairs.

My Gazelle Glider is now a cat toy.

Tig 3.0 has very similar markings to Tig 2. But he has two dark spots on the bottoms of his hind paws, and pure white whiskers. Tig 2 had some black whiskers.

He’s a snugglekitty.

This is a happy house again. Well, except for Gracie. But she’ll get used to him. It’s only been a few hours.

I’ll have kitty movies up after my batteries recharge. He’s too cute not to share.

Hamas shows Carter that they think peace means war

Doubtless Jimmy Carter will have some kind of explanation for the Hamas attack on the Kerem Shalom border crossing.

Two soldiers were moderately wounded and 11 more sustained light wounds early Saturday morning after a Palestinian terror cell detonated a car bomb at the Kerem Shalom goods crossing near the security fence along the border in the southern Gaza Strip.

Exchanges of fire ensued as IDF troops engaged the Palestinian gunmen, who were apparently attempting to infiltrate the crossing under the cover of heavy fog. A second car bomb, which had also been driven into the crossing, failed to detonate.

The bombing constitutes the fifth Palestinian assault on Gaza border crossings since last week.

The terrorists were also trying to kidnap more soldiers. There will be more attacks.

Palestinian sources report that the Hamas cell tried to use mortar shells and gunfire to distract forces while one or more terrorists tried to cross into the Israeli side of Kerem Shalom.

And Hamas will be using human shields as cover. Watch for it.

At 11:00 a.m. (0900 GMT), about 200 Palestinian women demonstrated in front of Erez crossing linking Israel with northern Gaza Strip and some 20 women gathered in demonstration at Karni commercial crossing in eastern Gaza city.

At Erez, the women stood for one hour about 150 meters away from the Israeli gates, chanting slogans against the Israeli siege and holding Palestinian and Hamas flags. The gatherings ended peacefully.

“Going to demonstrate at the (Israeli) occupation’s crossings around Gaza Strip refute claims that Gaza Strip residents’ explosions were aimed at Egypt,” Hamas said in a statement.

Hamas’ demonstrations came hours after the Islamic movement claimed responsibility for wounding 13 Israeli soldiers in a suicide attack at Kerem Shalom crossing in southeast Gaza Strip.

And when some of the human shields are killed, the world—and brand-new pal and Hamas cheerleader Jimmy Carter—will blame Israel.

The Kerem Shalom crossing is a vital cargo artery, through which dozens of trucks transporting goods into Gaza pass every day. The crossing is not open on Saturdays and troops from the Bedouin Desert Reconnaissance Unit secure the facility.

The IDF has apparently already killed one of the masterminds of the attack. Now that’s good intel.

Several short hours after the combined attack on the Kerem Shalom goods crossing in southern Gaza – one of the Hamas commanders behind the assault has been reported killed in an IDF airstrike on a vehicle transporting armed gunmen in city of Rafah.

Hamas has confirmed the identity of the man killed as Muaa’in Abu Hamduna, a senior official in the group’s military wing – the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – a resident of the Beit Lahiyah region in northern Gaza.

So. Think Jimmy Carter’s trip to legitimize Hamas talk peace with Hamas was a success?

Morning Tig report

The good news is Tig slept through the night, thus allowing me to do the same. The bad new is yes, I’m allergic to my new cat. He makes me itch. I’m washing my hands a lot and waiting for my body to kick in whatever the anti-allergens are called. The worst news is he likes to lick me, and the saliva is where the allergens are. Oh, well. It’s hard to be annoyed about getting kitty kisses.

Boy, can he eat. I’m going to try not to overfeed this one. (Shyeah, that’ll work.) He is also a major slob when he eats. I have to get a large placemat for him today.

I bought him one of those spring-toys, a puffy ball at the end of a four-inch spring. He likes it. He also likes the four sponge balls I bought him. And he plays with literally everything in my office, including my toes. He can jump and climb like crazy. I have to completely re-think the way my apartment is set up. Eight-week old kittens don’t understand “No.”

He has a little chirrup that he makes when he’s concerned or lonely. And a very, very loud meow when he wants attention. He misses his brothers and sisters, poor thing. I wish I could have taken two of them. But I can’t. Three’s too many for me, and Gracie would be odd cat out. Not fair to her.

He likes to attack my feet. With or without socks on.

He is so far uninterested in the desk and computer.

And he has made me smile. And laugh. And laugh. And laugh.

Time to go play with my new kitten. He’s bored.
