Send your prayers to the Tech relatives

Filed under: Miscellaneous, Terrorism — Meryl Yourish @ 1:51 pm

The shooting at Virginia Tech is simply horrible. The college paper is saying that the storm prevented medivac choppers from helping transport the wounded. They’re saying the death toll is up to 32, and may rise.

This is terrible. My heart goes out to any parent with a child at Virginia Tech, and I have to say right now, I’m really, really, really glad that my former madricha chose to go to William & Mary.

Our local ABC affiliate had a student call in. She sounded terrified and in shock. She said everyone that can get off campus is going off campus.

Poor kids.

  3. This incident should be compared to the U. Texas campus tower incident in 1966. That brain cancer-deranged shooter was shot by a combination of police and fellow students who pulled rifles out of their car trunks and began firing back in self-defense. If there would have been no armed students on the UTx campus in 1966, the death toll would have been higher as the shooter in the tower had a commanding vantage point of the entire campus.
