The end of Jew Cooties in Pakistan?

Apparently, Pakistan has decided that American Jews don’t have cooties.

They’ve also decided to accept aid from Israel.

For the first time since its creation, Pakistan has accepted an offer of relief aid and financial assistance from Israel for its post-earthquake relief activities.

Geo, a private television channel, reported on Wednesday that President General Pervez Musharraf had given the nod to Tel Aviv for its offer of relief goods and financial assistance.

The information could not be confirmed from the government.

However, the channel said it was not clear what type of relief goods and technical assistance will be on their way to Pakistan from Israel and who will receive and operate them.

Could this be the end of the Jew Cooties category?

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

One of the networks yesterday mentioned that Muslims in the US had raised $130,000 for their earthquake afficted co-religionists in Pakistan. That is less than ten cents from each Muslim in America. Why should the non-Muslim world care if the relatively wealthy American Muslim community does not? Clearly, these people think that non-Muslims are obligated to help Muslims, and that is the mentality Musharraf is displaying.

This may be symptomatic of the gradually changing (warming) relationship between Pakistan and Israel. I wouldn’t be too surprised if the two established diplomatic relations before the decade is out, personally. Israel’s certainly willing, and Pakistan is tired of seeing Israel help India with advanced weaponry. Of course, I could just be overly optimistic… but the signs are there.
