Context. BIG context. The New York Times elides a threat by Hezbollah to invade Israel in the next conflict.

Nasrallah said in the interview that Hezbollah was ready to fight a new war against Israel in Lebanon and renewed a threat to invade the Galilee region of northern Israel. Hezbollah fighters “must be prepared”, he said.

“When the resistance (Hezbollah) leadership… asks you (fighters)… to enter into Galilee, that means the resistance must be ready to enter into Galilee and to go even beyond the Galilee.”

Here’s how the Times spins that.

The attack, targeting two vehicles traveling in the Syrian portion of the Golan Heights, came days after Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said Israeli strikes in Syria constituted serious aggression and that Syria and its allies had a right to respond.

The interview where Nasrallah threatened to invade the Galilee was broadcast days before the missile attack. The missile attack killed Hezbollah commanders–and also an Iranian general. Gee. Whatever could an Iranian general be doing on the Syrian border with Israel, we wonder?

Watch for the Iranian retaliation. They work fast, too. Last week, an Argentinian prosecutor said that Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez covered up the Iranian role in the bombing of the Jewish Center in Buenos Aires in 1994. He was found murdered in his apartment on the day he was to testify about the coverup.

But don’t worry, the Times will definitely blame any Iranian and Hezbollah attacks on Israel. For killing “fighters” on her border with Syria.

No, I don’t need a million articles about it: Yes, tragically, some equipment failed and circus performers fell and were hurt. Thankfully, they will all recover. And no, I don’t need it to be the lead article on Google News when you have things like Ukrainians battling Russian forces, 60,000 Syrians are fleeing their homes to avoide more fighting (over 100,000 dead so far, and yet, no Syrian Goldstone Report, go figure), and, gee, so much, much more. But yeah, now that the Malaysian airliner is old news, we have to have something new to distract the journalists with.

Be careful what you wish for: It’s a typical slanted piece about the Palestinians taking Israel to the ICC after the failed peace talks, but Isabel Kershner manages to also discuss at how the Palestinians might get some serious blowback against themselves if they do take Israel to the ICC over settlements. The Shurat Ha-Din is preparing a case against the terrorists. My money is on the Israeli lawyers winning this one. Crimes against humanity? Well, I think suicide bombs, rockets, and mortars beat building new homes for “settlers”.

Priceless. He’s still such a moron: The anti-Israel and anti-Semitic Robert Fisk, whos last name became a verb known the world over for sarcastically taking apart a news article, will never change. He just published a whiny piece (with plenty of slams at Israel) about how Spain is inviting Jews back–who were thrown out in 1492 during the Inquisition–but not Muslims. Let’s think. Hm. Jews entered the country peacefully and established themselves as citizens. Muslims? Well, gee. there was this thing known as the Muslim conquest of Spain. They turned Spain and the region around it into the Muslim nation of “Andalusia“–a nation that Osama bin Laden (among others) wants to bring back. So no, I really can’t think of a single reason why Spain and Portugal are willing to let Jews return, but not Muslims. Oh, Robert Fisk. You so stupid.

That tired, old “cycle of violence”: Israel attacked terror sites in Gaza in response to rocket fire–again. And CNN is “picking up” the habit of using “scare quotes” from the Brits, I think.

Israeli warplanes struck five targets in Gaza on Saturday evening in “retaliation” for what a military spokesman called “terrorist aggression.”

Four of the “targeted … terror sites” were in northern Gaza while one was in southern Gaza, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, a military spokesman, said the strikes were “precision” and “intelligence-based.”

Way to go, “news” reporting site.

This is why there will not be peace: Saab Erekat, who lies just about every time he opens his mouth, says that Hamas is not, and has not ever been, a terror group.

“I hereby declare, in the make of President Mahmoud Abbas and the directorate of Fatah, that Hamas is a Palestinian movement, and is not and never was a terror group,” Erekat added.

This is actually not a lie–for him. The Palestinians believe that what we call terror is their “resistance”–even to the murdering of children.

Which is why there will not be peace.

Punching back, finally: Looks like pro-Israel groups are finally starting to wake up to the power they have to drive the anti-Israel Jewish groups out of Jewish community events. Screw inclusion. If they’re anti-Israel, they’re anti-Jewish–even if they’re Jewish. Let them fight from their own parades–which of course, nobody will come to. Which is the point.

BDS Pushback: Looks like people are learning two things: That voting for BDS violates their own anti-discrimination laws, and that minorities are using loopholes to push organizations into voting for BDS when the majority is uninterested in boycotting Israel. This keeps happening: King’s College in London overturned the vote for boycotting Israel. More and more organizations are refusing to join the BDS movement as they begin to realize the downside. The downside includes legal action that cuts their funding if they boycott Israel. It is illegal for a U.S. business to boycott Israel.

The United Nations Human Rights Council debated five anti-Israel resolutions — including one that calls for a business boycott of West Bank settlements and Jewish neighborhoods of east Jerusalem — during its Monday meeting in Geneva.

During the UNHRC’s entire 25th session this month, it is voting on only one resolution on Syria even though over 120,000 people have been killed in its ongoing civil war. Similarly there was only one resolution against the regime in Tehran which has executed over 80 people this year.

There are also two reports being submitted on Israel’s settlements. Yes, two. One by Ban Ki Moon, one by disgusting Jew-hating Jew, Richard Falk, who is accusing Israel of “ethnically cleansing” the Palestinians. The fact that Syrian jihadis are literally murdering and forcibly converting Ethnically cleansing Syria’s Christians? Didn’t garner a mention.

Business as usual at the Human Wrongs Council. So glad that Obama got us back on it, because it made such a huge difference.

But hey, they’re great at getting mad over words. Just words. Remember when Obama said that while he was running? “Just words.” Well, they took Netanyahu to the woodshed over words his defense minister said. The words? Obama “looks weak” on Iran. See above. Also: Looks like the long knives of the Obama administration are out for Ya’alon. But not Putin. Because that would make far more sense.

Pound them harder next time: The IDF struck Syrian army positions in response to terrorists from Syria attacking an IDF Jeep on the Israel side of the border. Of course the Syrians are warning that Israel could destabilize the Middle East if they do it again. Gee. You think the Middle East is stable, Syria? That’s so adorable.

Red on red: Hamas is calling the Egyptian blockade of Gaza a “crime against humanity”. You know who isn’t? All of the people who call Israel’s blockade of Gaza a crime against humanity. What time is it? Say it with me, people: Israeli Double Standard Time.

Yeah, they probably did it: Iran is blaming Israel and the U.S. for attempted sabotage of the Arak heavy water reactor. And by “attempted sabotage”, I’m guessing they mean “Shit! They got us again!”

The bias is clear: Mahmoud Abbas is in the White House, and Obama is lobbing softballs. Palestinians “need to take risks” for peace.

“We’re going to have to take some tough political decisions and risks if we’re able to move it forward,” Obama said.

Note that he is not accusing Abbas of not wanting peace–which he did to Netanyahu. Remember this from his interview with Jeffrey Goldberg?

But I believe that Bibi is strong enough that if he decided this was the right thing to do for Israel, that he could do it. If he does not believe that a peace deal with the Palestinians is the right thing to do for Israel, then he needs to articulate an alternative approach. And as I said before, it’s hard to come up with one that’s plausible.

There you have the Obama Middle East problem in a nutshell. He blames Bibi and coddles Abbas. Congress is catching on and pointing that out. But don’t worry, that won’t stop Abbas from demanding Israel release more murderers as a condition to keep talking.

Color me stunned: This AP piece is as objective as the one above. I guess the editors figure there’s no way they can paint Hezballah in a positive light when it’s caught red-handed trying to get major weapons to use against Israel.
