I don’t recall Shore’s use of that word in her piece, but if she did use it, how was Edelman “ignored”? He was never unknown to a wider circle of Jews, nor forgotten, nor his death a few years ago unremarked upon or unlamented. So in what way “ignored”? “Ignored” because few others were persuaded by him to his form of “anti-Zionism” (or should that be “a-Zionism” or uninterest, disinterest, indifference, or whatever where Zionism is/was concerned, since he seems not to have had the hateful antipathy toward the Jewish state that so many “anti-Zionists” do)?

What Adam Garfinkle has had to say about remembering the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the implications of how we do or don’t go about it (http://blogs.the-american-interest.com/garfinkle/2013/04/19/pondering-a-70th-anniversary/) is far more useful and distortion-free than what Professor Shore, a secular Jew whose own attitudes toward Zionism aren’t clear to me, has said about it.
