I keep hoping that retirement will get pushed off, but it keeps getting closer and closer. I was honored to have been a contributor here for 3 (I think) years. You showed us the way. (I keep harking back to your duel of wits with Andrew Sullivan back in April, 2002 over Wolfowitz’s unfortunate remarks; unfortunately for him he was at half-strength. ha-ha)

Long time mostly lurker. Good luck with the novel and, I hope, your successful new career as an author. While I won’t miss the posts on the ever increasing antisemitism in the world, I do think you were doing a mitzvah with your blog and I will miss it. In addition to the cat pictures, I hope your trademarked juvenile scorn has a place in your future endeavors. Thanks for the memories.

Well, considering my novels are about cats with human intelligence and magical powers, and that two of the main Catmages happen to look exactly like Gracie and Tigger, I think we can definitely say I’ll continue to post cat pictures.

Ack! Of course, you need to do what’s right for yourself, and I’m grateful for all the time you’ve generously given for your blog all these years. I’ll miss it and I do hope that, no matter what else you do, you keep posting pictures of your cats.
