As to disclaiming a Jewish connection to the Temple Mount, Meryl, yes, they've already done that. The Palestinian position (from Abbas on down) is that the contemporary people who call themselves Jews have no direct connection to the land or, of course, the Temple Mount. This attitude pervades Palestinian society, there is no dissent from it, and the claim that the Palestinians are eager for peace with Israel and just waiting for that Israeli concession which will allow them to do so is unsupported by any real evidence. This doesn't stop the left from believing it, of course.

As to the Torahs, there have been instances of Arab mobs destroying Torahs, not printed versions but the actual Torahs. Some people reading this may not know that Torahs are hand copied onto parchment and represent months of laborious effort. When a printed copy of the Koran is supposed to have been flushed down a toilet there is a wo;rdwide outcry. The destruction of a valuable and cherished Torah draws little comment, much less outrage.
