I am in agreement with both of you on details. However, the situation we are in, when our government has to respond to all kinds of wacky “peace initiative” exercises while sitting on its governing arse is of Bibi’s doing – or, rather, not doing anything. Which is his forte.

This accurately describes the current relationship between Baraq O and a majority of USA citizens. Many of us (not enough, sadly, but many) saw him as an arrogant, dishonest Chicago-style Entitlement Thug for quite some time before he became president. Many more (enough, happily) have cleared the scales from their eyes and finally realize he’s not the Second Coming they thought he was.

I’d not castigate Bibi too much if speaking honestly and directly to Baraq “poisoned the relationship” – just realize that it’s the relationship with Baraq, not the relationship with the USA, that has been poisoned. Baraq does not speak for the majority of us in many areas. Concerning our country’s relationship with Israel, he actively opposes most of us. Baraq is a short-timer. He’ll be gone soon, and we’ll all still look to Israel as friend and ally. If anything, the confrontation helped Israel by making Baraq’s venality even more apparent.

In the modern world, no borders with an actively murderous enemy on the other side are secure and defensible. And any border with a genuine partner on the other side is manageable.
