Sorry Meryl, but I respectfully disagree.
My husband was a Reagan-era Marine and I washed out of USMC bootcamp due to a medical problem pre-DADT.
Introducing yet ANOTHER PC policy during wartime is going to created a new protected class(remember what happened when the US army was socially promoting muslims in the name of PC), hurt morale, and unit cohesion.
Yes-I know there are homosexuals and lesbians serving honorably(a lesbian friend of mine is a former USA MP)and they can continue to do it without wearing their sexuality on their sleeves.
We have a volunteer military. No one forced homosexuals to join.

Yeah, what do Marines know about warfighting after all? They need to get with the post-modern, progressive program, and not be such reactionaries.

We’ve always had gays in the military. I’m glad they can now serve openly and not worry about being discharged and losing their benefits.
