.. w.r.t. “England’s Little Problem,” one is reminded that .. 40% of the mosques in Britain fall under the Tablighi Jamaat umbrella. And while not violent or political *per se*, they advance a particularly ARID faith very much of a piece with Christian Fundamentalism. The trouble is that some strains of religion (including Hinduism, from what i’ve read) are more easily twisted than others. for example, Bin Laden – brought up in Wahhabism – thought he was merely putting precept into action (see also, Cromwell’s men slaughtering Catholic women and children at Drogheda). I guess I’m skeptical of any .. power structure that discourages questioning and subtlety in thought.
