If Shalit is still alive and is released, he will be released in return for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, most of whom are happily self-confessed murderers and many of the remainder would have been murderers if they could have been. The ratio will be one Israeli for hundreds of Palestinians and the only question will be how many hundreds to one?

And I predict that no one, absolutely no one, will suggest that one Israeli for hundreds of Palestinians is “disproportionate.”
