Arafat ordered the murder of two American and one Belgian diplomats at the Khartoum attack in 1973. The US has recorded phone conversations between Arafat and his terrorists, ordering them to kill the men. He should have ben hunted down and killed for that decades ago.

I lack the complex thought processes of NY Times reporters, but it does occur to me that he could have…oh, say…made a counter-offer.

As usual, Arab terrorism is excused, condoned, or explained away. Then again the Times and a lot of the western bien-pensants have historically had a rather casual attitude towards Jewish lives.
