There are no jingle balls in my house. There will never be jingle balls in my house. Cat toys that have bells on them are forbidden and, if received as gifts, either the noisemaker is disabled, or the gift is quietly given or tossed away.

Cats are noisy enough without giving them extra things to make noise with during the night. This is especially because I've always been a light sleeper. Bad enough Tig likes to sleep on my feet---but to give him something that makes noise as he bats it around? Brrrr.

I don't give children noisy gifts, either, not without first checking with their parents to make sure it's all right.

I don't know what happened to that particular mousey. Tig has been slowly but surely destroying the other one.
