Okay, I remember you now, Drew. But I’ve been getting new users registering right and left, and the Russian spammers have figured out that I’m on to them, I think. I’m now deleting nonsense names that have eponymous gmail or yahoo or hotmail accounts. If I get an angry email from a real person, well, I’ll explain.

Well, you *made* me re-register.

I have been reading your blog for MANY years (first directed here by WSJ’s Opinion Journal when you were running the Arafat death watch … so how long ago is that?), once tried to set you up with my brother-in-law, and argued with you in numerous comments about Palin — while noting that I hated to see you go down that path. Given that long history, I even tried to connect on LinkedIn, but got ignored.

So yep, that’s me. Also, if you are interested in making money from home, free Cialis and Viagra, or losing weight while eating all you want … um, that’s not me.

Well, I’m convinced (that you’re not a spammer). But geez, that one line and the link, coupled with your registering recently, hit most of the warning bells in my “comment spammer” checklist. All we needed was a reference to medications or earning big money from home, and we’re there.

The answer is neither, and I provided a link to the editorial because it supports your final point. Most people do seem fooled by the outdated and/or inaccurate notion that Democratic presidents run up the deficit and Republican presidents are fiscal conservatives. They also don’t remember what they’ve heard or where they’ve heard it. Democracy is, indeed, the worst political system … except for all the rest. ;-)
