The Quakers ahve been apologists for tyranny since as far back as I can remember. I saw one of them speak at a college around 1970 telling the audience what splendid chaps the Vietnamese Communists were and how evil the US was for opposing the spread of communist tyranny there. They don’t get too upset about things like the Cambodian killing fields or Gulags though; eggs and omelettes dontcherknow.

So I found the website for the Mennonite Central Conference and sent an e-letter to their general address–they don’t list a separate e-mail address for Ms. Klassen.

I tried to keep it neutral, just noted their invitation and asked if they have ever extended a similar invitation to an Israeli prime minister. I’ll wait ten days and then let you all know what, if anything, I found out.
