I’m not sure there are any Palis smarter than that. When Saddam was shooting missiles at Israel in 1991, with the potential for chamical weapons in the warheads, the Palis were out cheering. This was despite the fact that they were downwind of any Israeli targets Saddam might be lobbing missiles armed with nerve gas at.

There weren’t any smarter Palis 17 years ago and since then Arafat’s rule just made them dumber and more barbaric.

In that case he’s an idiot.
Israel is’t big enough for the pals not to suffer almost the same fate as the Israelies would in such a case.
Somewhere there should be pals smarter than that but unfortunatly they are not the ones holding the guns over there.

Oh, Meryl, I am constantly bemused by your lack of cultural sensitivity. Al-Zahar whispers soft words into Carter’s willing ears…that’s what he really means. The rest, the blood-curdlingly savage words with which he addresses his followers–just colorful Arab rhetoric.
