The Administration is exhausted by seven years of constant attacks and the recalcitrance of the permanent government. It is out of energy. All Bush can do now is hang on and try to win the Iraq Campaign, he has no energy or ideas for anything else. Consequently the purveyors of conventional wisdom are back in the saddle everywhere else and their inane ideas are driving policy. One of those is that we must make nice with the Arabs and the way to do that is to get the Palis their state. Condi is wholly captured by the same CW peddlers. They’re the Experts, doncherknow.

The Iraq Study Group was impacted CW, like an impacted wisdom tooth that must be extracted before it infects your whole mouth. Sadly, the type of unrealist that dominated that group is now in the catbird seat for Mideastern policy.

I guess having approval ratings in the low 30’s is too high for W., so he’s trying to bring it down a bit.

Why can no one in DC see that the Palestinians are hopeless lying terrorists who only want one thing, and all this western money just enables them to keep trying to attain their goal?
