I’ll adopt Cynthia Ozick’s comment:

“Let the SS man die unshriven.
Let him go to hell.
Sooner the fly to God than he.”

And by the way, substituting “terrorist” for “SS man,” I’d take the same view with the current generation of Jew-killers.

Joel, le-havdil elef alfei havdalot (many thousands of times removed from the person under discussion above), my grand-uncle and his sister, my grandmother, may they rest in peace. The former retired at 85 and spent the last fourteen years of his life volunteering at a local hospital, repairing toys for children who were in the wards there. He stopped working due to illness three weeks before he died in that same hospital at the age of 99. When my grandmother, a Braille transcriber, died suddenly at the age of 92, she still had work on her table waiting to be done.
