Campbell needs to reprise his role as Ash in another Army of Darkness movie - very underrated. It's good campy fun.

I saw the movie last night and the crowd reaction to many of the scenes was, well, interesting and suggested that the movie didn't quite hit the right notes at various places.

The CGI was incredible and thought that Sandman and Venom were the best bits of the movie. My full review is here (some spoilers may be included).

Bruce Campbell is a mensch. Years ago, when Xena and Hercules were still on the air, my friend's 11-year-old daughter was a HUGE fan of the show. I saw there was going to be a Xena CreationCon in New York, so I suggested to her mother that we take Sophie to the convention. We all liked Xena, and I did the convention thing in my twenties (mostly comic and SF cons), so I knew my way around a bit.

Bruce Campbell was one of the guests. We waited in line so Sophie could get his autograph, but she was so starstruck and shy and tongue-tied that she couldn't speak. So I introduced her to him, and told him she was one of his biggest fans, and Bruce saw right away that she was shy and afraid to speak. He was sweet, he was gentle, and he made that experience so great for her that it was probably the highlight of her life for some time after that.

I love Bruce Campbell as an actor, and liked him very much as a person after that.

I admit I hardly knew who Bruce Campbell was until Spider-Man 1 even though I had seen that movie where he has a chain saw stuck on the end of his arm. I ended up seeing him when he came and spoke at my university. Funny guy.
