These guys are playing a long game and they are making incremental progress on the boycott front, which serves to normalise and institutionalise a characterisation of Israel as uniquely disgraceful. Raymond Deane doesn’t much care whether such resolutions advance the cause of ‘Palestinian solidarity’ because he doesn’t care about Palestinians – he hates Israel, which is another thing entirely. His goal in these efforts is to initiate media coverage in which Israel gets associated with a boycott and in which other themes (Israelis are killers, racists, oppressors, etc) get aired. Indeed, he likes it best when his action elicits opposition, since it allows him to claim he’s being muzzled, etc., despite his near ubiquity in Irish print media. Oh, and the token Jew tactic is one of his favourites: he has a whole kennel of Jewish mascots to guard him from charges of anti-Semitism.

Because they are part of an unstructured but very well-understood concept, the “front”.

They are involved in a process. Each action they take has an effect or is a distraction or an opening for another ally to work with.

Some talk, others riot, others shoot and bomb. Yes, they are hoping to destroy Western civilization. No, they don’t think things through to realize they will quickly run out of food and drink if they succeed.

Members of state-funded organizations–whether they be universities, arts organizations, established churches, or whatever–seem to have a strong tendency to call for the destruction of the society on which they feed. And make no mistake, most anti-Israel and anti-Semitic opinion at the present time is closely linked to the desire for the destruction of Western civilization.
